Johanna + Aaron

Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club Wedding

Jo and Aaron were married on June 9th in beautiful Port Carling, Ontario. We were so looking forward to our very first Muskoka wedding and it didn’t disappoint. When we arrived at the JW Marriott and checked in on the Friday afternoon we were already in love with the rustic nature that surrounded us. We headed over to The Rock where Aaron and his groomsmen were playing a round of golf and were able to follow them in our own cart on a couple of holes. The morning of the wedding day Jo’s mom Patty came to pick us up at the marina in one of the family boats and it was just starting to rain. As the clouds rolled in and the skies opened up we all wondered if it would clear up in time for the photo session and ceremony. Aaron had sent over a series of clues for his bride to try and figure out where they were going to be heading for their honeymoon. She started with a crossword and then a word scramble and a few others to keep her and her bridesmaids guessing all morning long. When the rain stopped just after noon we were all crossing our fingers that we had seen the last of it. After a very special first look on the family dock the bridal party and families headed out for the photo session at a nearby cottage where the grounds were breathtaking. The ceremony and reception were held at the country club in a large room that extended right out over the water and had beautiful windows all around. Everything was gorgeous and there was evidence of Jo and Aaron’s personalities in many of the details (many of which were put together by Patty herself). We were all thoroughly entertained by Signal Hill as they performed many classic hits and kept everyone dancing late into the night. With a few more Muskoka weddings coming up this summer we are excited to return to the north and we are equally excited to share the highlights from Jo and Aaron’s amazing, romantic, oh-so-beautiful wedding story!
