Dyment’s Farm Wedding, Dundas Ontario
Jessica + Steven did it anyway. Yes, they looked COVID-19 right in the eyes and said !&#@# we’re getting married !!! We were so happy when they confirmed that no matter what, no matter how small, or whether it be in their backyard or at their family cottage they were most definitely getting married on August 7, 2020. As if all the restrictions, rules and regulations weren’t enough to contend with they also learned that Jess’ brother Mackenzie who plays for the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks was not going to be able to attend because he was stuck in the Edmonton Bubble thousands of miles from home. They forged on. Jess’s wedding shoes never arrived due to huge delays in shipping times. She wore simple white flip flops. The tent rental company took one look at the google map of their backyard and said they couldn’t possibly fit two tents in that space… they did it anyway. If any couple has shown resilience and strength and an unwavering commitment to marriage it’s these two. We are absolutely honoured that they chose us to capture these incredibly precious memories. Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. They still got married on the farm like they planned and those who could not attend in person, due to the limited guest count, formed a car parade and came by the house for a quick photo op (from their vehicle) and a Cheers! It was different, but it was also beautiful. This wedding will never be forgotten, it’s one of those events in our history of capturing love stories that we will simply not ever forget, and not for all the things it wasn’t, but for everything that it was. Macker (in bobblehead form) swam with Steven and his groomsmen in the morning and he even got into some guest photos at the end of the night after one too many cocktails 🙂 If we had to describe this wedding in one word it would be magical… you will forever be happy and grateful you went for it… what an amazingly powerful way to start your marriage. There won’t be anything the two of you can’t get through after this.
