I love that by the time I arrive on the morning of the wedding day I already feel like family. Along with capturing every important detail of your day, I feel it’s equally important to capture the emotion and the special moments that seem to pass by so very quickly. So many times I hear “I honestly can’t remember anything. The entire day is just a big blur”. That’s when it’s nice to present the entire collection of wedding photos that re-tells every time-stopping moment.
Engagement photos are such an important aspect of the relationship that I build with each of our couples. I typically spend anywhere from 2-4 hours with you at 2 or 3 different locations in order to capture as many moments, expressions and ‘scenic’ photos as possible. My goal is to give you a collection of engagement images that you love and are proud to frame and have on display. Often times I have joked with our couples that I’m not quite sure where they will put their wedding photos because they have adorned their home with so many of their engagement photos. Engagement sessions are a great time to bring along some props that will enhance your photos and make them even more personal. I encourage couples to bring two or three coordinating outfits and don’t mind giving advice on what will look best in your photos. I often incorporate lunch or dinner into our eSessions as another opportunity to chat and get to know each other. Engagement photos also give us an opportunity to discover your best side and the poses that suit you best. I always ask couples to let me know which of their images are their favourites so I can make sure to get some similar shots on their wedding day. Here are a few images from some recent engagement sessions – each of these couples will be tying the knot in 2012 – they are madly in love – they inspire me – and I’m super excited to be photographing their wedding story.
Wedding images can often tell a story in a single frame. Whether it’s intricate details that may have taken months to decide on, precious moments (like when a father gives his daughter a kiss just as he’s about to walk her down the isle), or romantic portraits during the photo session, I love being a wedding photographer.
